Frame your fireplace

What a warm and inviting living room!

If you're fortunate enough to have a home with a fireplace, lucky you! Here are a few ways you can create a room designed to draw the eye to this lovely home feature.

- For a fireplace that is located in the center of the room and in the wall, create cabinet and storage space by installing built-in shelving. This will also create an esthetically pleasing frame around the fireplace, making it the focal point of the room. We love the weathered look of these white framed cabinets on either side of the white brick fireplace. The arched frames around the open shelves help soften the look and the neutral palette goes great with the rest of the room.

- Another traditional take on framed cabinets is to extend the design onto multiple walls. Although the seating area is situated so the family members and guests can all see the TV, the fireplace sits at the perfect angle to distribute heat around the room. The glass cabinets add an element of sophistication to the room. Installed lighting helps illuminate trinkets and photos while the bottom half of the cabinet design consists of closed, framed cabinets - perfect for hiding movies, books and entertainment consoles.
