Under the sink storage ideas

It's always a challenge to keep under-sink areas organized.

Whether the cabinets under your sink are filled with cleaning supplies or pots and pans, it's important to keep them organized so you can find what you're looking for in a timely fashion. Having organized kitchen cabinets gives you more space to work with and keeps things looking clean and organized. Try a few of these storage solutions for the cabinets under your kitchen or bathroom sink:

Use pullouts

Put a two-tier pullout shelf in your cabinets and arrange all of your essentials on there. The narrow top shelf makes it easy to glide past plumbing and creates plenty of space on the lower level for more necessary items.

Organize by use

Stow away the items you use less frequently in the back so that you don't have to get them out every day. Instead, keep the essentials in the front so you're not reaching over other pots and pans to get to them.

Try a creative lighting solution

Sometimes it's hard to see everything that's hiding in the back of those cabinets. This is when under-cabinet lighting comes in handy. Try small LED lanterns, which turn on and off with a simple tap, or a motion-sensing light like one of the Mr. Beams products (which are also fabulous for unlit closets).

Isolate cleaning supplies

Keep your scrubbing and cleaning items in an easy-to-grab basket or lazy susan to make everything easy to reach.
